CX40 Refit Kit

Installation Instructions

Tools needed:  Phillips Head Screwdriver

STEP 1.

Remove the (4) four screws from the bottom of the joystick.

Hold the controller with the joystick facing down and lift the bottom half

off from the top being careful that the small spring on the red fire button

does not fall off and get lost.

STEP 2.

Place the top of the joystick off to the side and make sure to

carefully place the joystick and its spring someplace so they

are not lost.

Remove the connections to the old PC board and remove the

interface cable from the bottom of the joystick plastic.

STEP 3.

Slide the new USB cable through the opening on the bottom

of the joystick plastic.

STEP 4.

Plug the USB cable into the bottom of the new CX40 Retrofit PCB

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

The BLACK wire should be on the far left side of the connector with

the board turned over as shown above.

The RED wire should always be the right side of the connector with

the board turned over as shown above.

DO NOT plug in backwards, this will damage the board and void

the warranty.

Step 5.

Place fire button back into its place, carefully place the spring onto

the firebutton.     Place the PC board onto the top of the joystick and

while holding the top side of the joystick facing down again as before,

slowly feed the USB cable out through the opening on the bottom

plastic and place the bottom place back onto the top until it sits

properly into place without pinching the USB cable inside.

Step 6.

Screw the (4) four screws back into place until secure.   Plug in and test

your newly Retrofitted CX-40 joystick.
